RFoG

RFoG is a viable and cost-effective Solution.

PBN’s RF over Glass (RFoG) solution provides Network Operators with a viable and cost-effective solution for deploying optical fibre deeper to the home.  An RFoG solution is an innovative way to meet the service demands of the future with current DOCSIS equipment, while ultimately migrating to an all-fibre FTTH platform.

With a PBN RFoG solution, it is possible to bridge the gap between existing headend and customer premises equipment to leverage the high speed and access benefits of an all fibre infrastructure.  The benefits of speed, distance, endurance, lower maintenance and value can be realised by both the Network Operator and the subscriber, without the need for huge capital outlays.

PBN designed this solution in such a way that it allows cable operators to get more revenue from their existing CATV/DOCSIS infrastructure by extending RF services over a FTTH/PON compatible glass network (RFoG).  The CATV/DOCSIS services can co-exist with GEPON/GPON services over the same glass network by using different optical wavelengths - 1550/1610 nm for CATV/DOCSIS and 1310/1490 nm for GEPON/EPON.

The ultimate benefit of an RFoG solution is the peace-of-mind you receive by deploying a future-proof network solution.
